The original name for the area we are in was SPINOLA, named after an Admiral in the time of the Knights who had built his Palace on a hill about 150 meters from what is today St. Julian’s bay. The Palace today still stands and its splendid gardens have been replenished and are open to the public at certain times of the day. Our hotel - The Rafael Spinola, is named after the Admiral and is situated a mere 100 meters from the gardens. Beyond the gardens is the splendid Hilton Hotel and to the rear of that, Paceville. On the perimeter of Paceville lies a bus terminal and to the East on the coastline, lies our International Casino. At this point the coastline curves its way to form St George’s Bay, recently upgraded to a super sandy blue flag beach. This is about 250 meters away from the hotels front door.![]()
